Michele LaPorte Downey is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in Carlsbad since 1987. As a Clinical Psychotherapist, she integrates her background and many years as a Registered Nurse, Master Addiction Counselor, and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, to provide the best of all worlds for your treatment plan.
Michele has been involved in the field of Chemical Dependency since 1974. She has experience with inpatient and outpatient settings, locked, secured and open.
She has been a clinician, supervisor, and manager working with a diversity of populations, using both medical and social model programs. She has assisted in the planning, training and implementation of several chemical dependency, psychiatric and dual diagnosis treatment units and family programs in both New Mexico and California.
As a Master Recovery Coach, she provides services specific for reaching the goals in your life, such as accomplishing your career dreams. She also teaches those who wish to become a Recovery Life Coach.
